What I ordered, not what I got 😭

So, ever since I saw this item advertised, I have really been wanting to try it. It looks really really good in the advertisements.

So today when I was near there on my way into work, I decided I would try it. I pulled into our local Zaxby’s on Signal Mountain Road in Chattanooga. I ordered it and it was the only thing I ordered. I already had a drink in the truck so I didn’t need to order the drink. I went directly around to the window, made my payment for my meal and was immediately told they were out of garlic aioli.

Now as much as I like garlic aioli, this was not going to be a deal breaker for me. The rest of it looked really really good and I was still very eager to try it. I was pretty sure I could imagine what it would taste like with the garlic aioli on it. Seconds later with my order in hand, I immediately pulled from the window and parked in the closest parking spot I could find. This took all of about 5 seconds.

Now the reason I bring this up is because a lot of people are going to ask me, how long was it between when I received my order and when I actually started eating. The answer to that is almost immediately.

First things first. It looked absolutely nothing like the advertisement. Now I understand the lack of garlic aioli is going to cause that difference in look. But where you see the marinara spread out everywhere all over the fries in the advertisement, mine was dolloped in the center of it like a tablespoon had been used. Simply press it and plop it into place. And it was refrigeration-level cold. The parmesan cheese was not melted at all, and this is due to the fact that the fries were lukewarm at best. As far as the chicken went, it look like they took one single strip and cut it into as many small pieces as possible to scatter it across the fries.

I have not been this disappointed in a treat in a very long time. Zaxby’s, do better. I know you can. As far as this particular trip goes, and as far as this particular dish goes, I’m afraid I’m going to have to give this a one star out of five. The only good thing I could really say about the entire experience is the cashier was very nice and the inside of the establishment looked clean.
