So I’m sitting here waiting for work to call me and I am eating a pack of Toasty cheddar cheese crackers by Lance™. No, this is not a sponsored post. I just happen to enjoy them and thought I would share.
My thoughts, mind you, not my crackers.
So, apparently the boss has hired a bunch of new workers 👭. This is stage one of a cycle that happens at work. I’ll see if I can better explain:
Step one: hire a bunch of new employees. Some won’t bother showing up for the first day, but the rest will get “trained” for two days 📆, then they are on their own.
Step two: all drivers only get one run a day or less because there are so many drivers on the board. Nobody makes any substantial money 💰 during this time (lowering the morale of his permanent employees 😐) and the new employees question if this job will be enough for them to pay the bills with (the answer is no, not with this many employees).
Step three: a few won’t like the training or the job (or both) and quit. Others will quit because they think that the work will always be this slow and they’ll leave. That will leave us with one or two that might hang around longer than two weeks.
Step four: the last few quit because they finally found another job during their downtime when they were on call but not actually working at the job. Then schedules will go back to normal for a while before the final step.
Step five: we have a day or two where demand is greater for drivers than supply, and the bosses plan is to hire in another ten people.
Start once again from step one. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
Today’s featured image is of my current snack. Again, this post is not sponsored by Lance™ (although I am intrigued by the later possibility) 😜
